The Player Count is Too Damn High!

You know your game kicks complete ass when you have to stop taking digital sales just to protect the integrity of the game from the swarms of players logging in to play Guild Wars 2.

It’s hardly been a week and Arena Net and NCSoft have already cut off digital sales on their website while they work on expanding the game’s infrastructure. As it stands, nearly every North American server is at High Population counts. It’s so bad, in fact, that the GW2 forums will not open until the initial influx of players calms down a bit.

How long will it last? No one knows. It’s probably better than BioWare’s Star Wars: The Old Republic launch, which experienced crashes server wide for the first 2 days after the launch. However, anyone itching to get in the game now can hobble over to other retailers and attempt to beg them for the now dwindling supply of GW2 keys online or physically.

Better Hurry. World Vs World is getting intense.
